Moss Safari Services

“Once you have been on a Moss Safari, you will never look at moss in the same way again!”

Moss Safari is a great way to engage children and adults alike with science, nature and microscopy. Moss Safari offers free resources to enable people to deliver or do their own Moss Safaris. However, bringing in Andy (aka Dr. Moss) to hear his enthusiastic scientific narrative and knowledge will add an extra enthralling and educational dimension to your lesson or event.

Depending on your school or organisation’s circumstances, we can sometimes provide Moss Safari events at reduced rates. Use the quote contact for details.

Live Online Experiences

The cheapest, easiest and most environmental sound way to have a live Moss Safari delivered by Andy is via an online session. Beam Andy (Dr. Moss) live into your assembly, classroom, small conference or small event for a live Moss Safari using your preferred platform. It includes a lively introduction to Moss Safari, a live Moss Safari with relevant curriculum linked narration and an opportunity for questions.

Primary Science Experiences

Moss Safari is the perfect way to introduce the microscopic world to primary aged children. Andy (Dr. Moss) can visit your school and do an assembly, an hour lesson, half day or whole day of Moss Safari related activities. All activities are curriculum linked (England 2014) across science, literacy and numeracy. These sessions are designed to increase Science Capital, making everyone know that they can do science and that the science isn’t done yet.

Secondary School Experiences

Whether you want to increase Science Capital, extend curriculum science, or increase engagement in science Andy can provide a Moss Safari session suitable for Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4 and 16+ audiences. The microscopic ‘Big Five’ can be brought to life through the adventure of hunting them out and hearing stories about their lives in moss, their impact on the global environment, our current scientific understanding and what scientists are still trying to figure out.
