5. Moss Safari in Secondary Schools

Written in 2022, this blog still gets a lot of traffic. I think it is because it explains how to carry out a Moss Safari in the secondary school. It also describes the impact on the students who took part. The next most popular blog was based on a primary school audience.
4. ‘Can we find a waterbear?’ Primary schools get ready for British Science Week with a Moss Safari

This was published in January 2024 to raise interest in the upcoming big Moss Safari event. It was based on the Moss Safari tardigrade featuring on the cBBC Live Lesson for Science Week in 2024. The purpose was to support primary school teachers in getting ready for British Science Week.
3. Introducing the Big Five 5 at low magnifications

This Moss Safari blog post is still popular since it was written in 2021. It was one of the first posts. It provides an outline description of what to look for when searching for the microscopic Big Five organisms. It complements the downloadable Moss Safari identification sheets
2. Wonderful water bears and where to find them.

Published in British Science Week 2024, this was written to help maximise the chances of finding tardigrades around you. Whether it is your school grounds, your garden or on the street, it is likely there are tardigrades living there. It’s just making sure you can catch them and isolate them to observe under your microscope. It was my early experimentation with AI, which was a subplot to this blog. And finally, the top Moss Safari blog is….

And of course, the place of the resources is the most visited blog. This summaries the techniques and associated resources that can be used at home or at school. I don’t monitor the downloads right now. This year I will start doing it. I want to see how much they are downloaded.
