Welcome to my first post in the Moss Safari Blog. I want this to be an ongoing record of my adventures using my microscope, the field notes if you like. Each time I do a moss squeeze, I try to record what I see in note form, with photos and videos, and with a written account of my finds. I am doing this for enjoyment, to learn and to experience the hidden world of moss. If you happen to enjoy reading my posts, learning with me, or even be able to educate me, please feel free to comment below.
A bit about me
Hi, I’m Andy Chandler-Grevatt, a science educator. I am a teacher, learner, researcher and author. I have a degree in biological sciences, a Masters in Crop Production in the changing environment (Climate change stuff) and a doctorate in science education.
Despite this, I am a novice microscope user and have only in the last couple of years become interested (not obsessed – quite) with the organisms that live in moss. I am also a relatively new to identifying the organisms I observe from moss samples. I love learning and I think this hobby provides a chance to never stop.
